Old threads

Postby KYfan on Mon Mar 05, 2012 6:34 pm

I understand that you want to leave all the old threads inside the topics but would it be possible to lock them so people can't post a comment to a thread from 2008? When they do it goes to the top of the current topics and just plain gets in the way. Thanks,
Peggy

I agree. It is getting harder and harder to keep up with everything that has to be read, only to find it is no longer current. I got off on a thread that took me to an article by PETA and it required an action and only then did I find it was from a couple of years ago. When a thread looks interesting it is easy to read it without looking at the date. Everything seems to have a color code of some kind - maybe threads from the previous years could be colored so they could still be read, but not revitalized.

It is not hard to keep up if you 1) look at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2986
and 2) click on the 'view active topics' as suggested in that thread. Bookmark it.
If older threads are locked, they cannot be edited and sometimes they are (by the posters) to save space.

We agree. IT gets confusing when you pick up an old thread that doesn't pertain to this race-- sometimes that ends up confusing folks. If you fee a thread should be closed, shoot me an message on it.

I use "View Active Topics" so I'm seeing what people are responding to in all the topics. The thread that started this has already moved to page 2 of the Active Topics so it's no longer an issue. Someone was complaining about the videos (which by the way are great) and I went in to try and help them when I noticed that they had opened a thread from 2008! Oh well, others on the boards seem to think the old posts should just be left there.
