I have had fun tracking this one since yesterday! It's nice to dream of dog teams and snow all the way from Qld Australia (where it is currently 95 degrees :O )

Good to see a close race too, even though I know most mushers probably view it more as a training run than serious competition (going off FB comments from DeeDee - who did well). I had no idea who Jake Berkowitz was until yesterday but he looks like he'll be interesting to watch on march. Apparently is one of only three mushers who have finished the Iditarod without dropping a single dog!

I LOVED following the KNIK! The facebook page was great! I was able to meet Jake at the Iditarod Teacher Conference in Michigan in October. He is a super nice guy! I had a ton of fun following him and everyone else. I like the idea that I am able to keep my students up-to-date on what mushers are doing to get ready for the big race.
