to Bushman
Don't you find it interesting how easy you can sit in the comfort of your chair critising Mackey..if you can do it better, than I ask you...WHATS THE HOLD UP>
Besides Mackeys not running the race...his dogs are.
Lance won 4 yukon Quests and 4 Iditerods back to back 4 years in a row.
What have you done lately.
Your comments are ridiculous and don't even warrant a response.
Butd you know what they say...if you can do it better...then one should get on the trail and show us how its done.
In the mean time it sounds like just a lot of hot air.

I learned something. I didn't even know they did drug testing.

Now I'm wondering if the dogs are tested for drugs.

Obviously, you're not speaking from experience.

Well it's been an interesting year. Would much rather have seen Aliy win, but that's the way it goes. Glad to see Dee Dee in the top ten. Girls rule!! If it isn't Lance I always root for the woman. :D Hopefully Lance will be back next year....I know that's what his fans want and I think it's probably next to impossible for him to stay away. He probably has the most loyal fan base of any musher. The crowd in Nome just didn't seem all that enthusiastic about Dallas.
Hope to see Lance in the hunt next year as I'm sure we all do. Great race.

Lance is still out there and I'm still following :) I think many mushers might be enjoying and/or benefitting from having the opportunity to encounter him on the trail. Plus, he's had opportunity to take a good look at his second string that Braxton is running.

Me too! Following along and having a good time here. In some ways, seeing everyone on the move, after getting held up by the blizzard is making for an interesting race within a race. :)

I didn't watch the first place finisher come in. I did hook up to the local live feed to watch Aliy get in. Good for her!

I'll watch until the last musher gets in. :D

I, too would have liked to see Eily win too.Dallas did a great job but I'm a little bit bothered by the ..lack of affection between him and his dogs. I don't know, the body language in his dogs doesn't seem to show much love betwen musher and canine.
In the pictures of Dallas and his dogs...the dogs lean away from him and don't show any affection for him, and vise versa.
Makes me wonder if his dogs are running out of intimidation rather than the love of racing and love for their owner.
When compared to Mackey, and others...you see the other mushers hugging on their dogs and their dogs showing lots of affection back, but you don't see that with Dallas and his team..
Just something noted from reading the body language. He doesn't give his dogs credit..He appears self absorbed.
Lance will be back next year and no doubt will be back on top.
He learns from every trip and will not make the same mistakes next year.I'm looking forward to seeing him on the TOP next year.
Hes still the Champ and his record of wins won't be met any time soon.
Hes already proven himself many times over and has nothing left to prove to anyone,
His dedication and love for his dogs and the sport of racing is undeniable and that why he hasa so many fans and sponcers.
Not to forgeat all the adversities hes had to overcome.
He is an inspiration to many many people. I can't wait to see him next year.
