2012 GPS Updates

Postby Bart on Sun Mar 04, 2012 11:57 am

Hi all,
It seems that we are all in agreement that a thread just for GPS updates is in order...so here it is. WHO will be the first to cut and paste a screen shot of the GPS tracker???
Looking forward to chatting with you all on the forums!

Sab will be wearing a tracker, too, and will be providing reports as part of his "ArmchairMusher" duties. Here his the link to his SPOT: http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0KCa5YZiQDhTG87pYLqqHdDr9qRWFYLbL

Bart, will you stick a "2012" in the GPS updates thread title? Thanks!

There are new features on the GPS be sure to check it out, Insider has it up and running. You have to Choose Your Racers before you see any flags on the map. You can pick and choose who you want to follow or you can choose all.

The only thing about the GPS map that may be a problem is that the copy/paste may not me so easy to use for updates...

Looks like Jodi Bailey and Jeff King are the first ones to pass somebody...

GPS has Jodi going cruising at 10.4mph others in front at 9.2mph. I wonder what the margin of error is on the GPS page?

Those should be pretty accurate for the speed of the musher at that point in time.
I seem to remember Jodi jumping in front last year too if I'm not mistaken.

For those that may not have noticed yet, on the tracker map in the upper right hand corner you can switch to satellite image.

I love this because now I can see the type of terrain they are running in.
